No pool industry experience needed! This entry-level program is designed to prepare MITs for opportunities in B2B Sales and Operations Management within six months.

MITs are hosted at distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, where they learn regional products and are provided structured hands-on training in every position.

During orientation, we cover the basics, including: POOLCORP history, policies & procedures, benefits, and operating priorities. Our goal is to provide you with industry knowledge, leadership skills and the tools necessary to succeed!

We recognize there are many different learning styles. The program is a combination of hands-on work experience at the warehouse distribution center, customer visits and formal classroom training.

MITs will travel once a month for a full week to our state-of-the-art EDGEucation facility in Plano, TX to participate in classroom lectures, projects, and role plays.

After each session, MITs return to their training warehouse for the remainder of the month to apply the concepts and material presented by the EDGE team.

  • Receive hands-on training and perform duties in every area of the warehouse and distribution center
  • Engage directly with customers both at the counter and in sales and service calls
  • Shadow contractors/other customers to learn the industry from the ground up
  • Increase product and industry knowledge through market research and attending sales conferences
  • Learn how to manage and grow a thriving territory
  • Receive guidance from multiple mentors to effectively set and achieve sales goals

Aside from the direct impact you will have on your warehouse distribution center, our leadership team is always eager to hear from our future leaders and encourages them to implement change. You will have an opportunity at the conclusion of the program to discuss your MIT experience and innovative ideas to Senior Level Management.

MITs also participate in a community service project, such as helping to create food boxes for those in need.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job successfully.

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Professional Selling, Management, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline
  • A solid academic performance record; 2.5 GPA minimum
  • In lieu of minimum education requirements, candidates with 2+ years of equivalent military experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Warehouse or Maintenance Supervision or other related discipline will be considered
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Willingness and ability to relocate for training and advancement opportunities with company paid assistance
  • Experience or internship in Warehouse Operations or Sales is a plus
  • Ability to maneuver heavy machinery, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. and lift products up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Must have a positive attitude and enjoy helping customers
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

The Distribution Sales and Operations Management Internships are designed to orient the intern to the various positions at our warehouse locations including Sales Center Manager, Operations Manager and Business Development Representative positions. Interns follow a progressive plan mentored by the sales center manager. Many of our interns join POOLCORP after graduation, either directly into roles in our businesses or as a member of our Manager In Training Program.
