The program is designed for external candidates to nurture effective leadership skills that will help you progress. Our manager trainee program is a well-developed progression plan that quickly orients talented and competent individuals into the POOLCORP environment. Outstanding employees move quickly into sales, operations, or customer-facing roles. Advancement is based primarily on demonstrated performance and the desire to seek greater challenges.
As a paid intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience at one of our sales centers or support offices throughout the company. Interns work alongside the leaders in the industry, offering them a unique opportunity to observe a challenging and fast-paced work environment while at the same time developing skills and a greater understanding of the wholesale distribution industry. Many of our interns join POOLCORP after graduation, either directly into roles in our businesses or as a member of our manager trainee program.
POOLCORP offers management training through a personal development plan. It provides existing employees with the opportunity to move vertically, allows for the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in their field of expertise, or make lateral moves to broaden their range of skills.
POOLCORP Learning is an online Learning Management System which complements the classroom environment and on-the-job support by delivering effectively, changing rapidly and catering to each specific employee’s career and personal needs. With thousands of videos and courses available, employees may log into their accounts from the office, home or even a mobile device, to access learning instantly. By providing a captivating, interactive environment with dynamic content, it not only effectively keeps employees up-to-date, but interested as well.
In addition to professional top-notch professional skills, POOLCORP focuses on in-depth industry and technical training to keep you up to date on emerging technologies and skills valued in the marketplace. We recognize there are different learning styles, therefore, we combine monthly classroom training taught in a number of ways including lectures, projects, and role play at our state-of-the-art EDGEucation Center, located in Plano, TX.
This program allows new employees who do not currently hold a Commercial Driver’s License (“CDL”) to earn while they learn. Employees attend CDL School, paid for by POOLCORP and obtain their CDL within 60 days of hire.
POOLCORP provides assistance for external education opportunities. Relevant coursework can sharpen our employee’s skills all while strengthening the company.
