About Our Heroes
Jonathan P.
Senior Director of Sourcing
“I served as an infantry officer for over 10 years in the airborne and special operations communities, most recently commanding two companies in the 75th Ranger Regiment. As I transitioned from the military and attended graduate school, I was searching for a company with a proven track record of success with an inclusive culture than valued innovation. POOLCORP's incredible track record, investments in technology, and visible support of the military veteran community were stand-out characteristics. I ultimately decided to launch my second career with POOLCORP after spending some time with its impressive leadership teams and the seemingly endless opportunities for personal and professional growth and development.
I started my career at POOLCORP 3 years ago managing supply chain strategy and development. Shortly thereafter, I developed and lead our centralized inventory management function. Within the last year, I was promoted to serve as the Senior Director of Sourcing and Inventory Management. The best part about working for POOLCORP is the incredible people and talent within the organization. As a new entrant to the pool and outdoor living industry, leaders were (and remain) arms wide open to ensure individual and team success. I couldn’t be happier with the team I’m surrounded by.
Distribution in the pool and outdoor living industry has more similarities to the military supply chains that veterans are accustomed to than it doesn’t. POOLCORP offers a seamless transition opportunity for any current or former military veterans seeking a new opportunity.”
BayLeigh T.
Outside Sales Representative
“I enlisted in March of 2020. I joined ROTC at the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2020. I graduated college and commissioned in May of 2023, and I am currently a 2nd Lieutenant in the North Carolina National Guard.
I started the Manager Trainee program at POOLCORP in June 2023 and I found the company through the college recruiting app, Handshake. POOLCORP’s training program and many relocation options were what caught my eye. The idea of being in an industry that sells “fun” products is what sold me. Being able to help family-owned businesses grow and succeed is my favorite part of the job, and it really gives a deeper meaning to my career.
I began the MIT program at SCP in Memphis, TN. After the first half of training, I applied to open positions in many great locations, ultimately choosing SCP in Greensboro, NC, where I am currently an outside sales rep.
I have received great support from everyone in the company when I need to allocate time to my National Guard duties. It was important to me when choosing an employer that I receive support and understanding with my military service, and that is exactly what I have gotten with POOLCORP.”
Charisma M.
Warehouse Associate
“My current rank is a Sergeant with the 358 Military Police Company. I have been in the US Army Reserves for 4 years and 6 months. My military occupational specialty is a 31E Corrections/ Detentions Specialist.
I found PoolCorp through a mutual contact who was working at the Riverside SCP. He had encouraged me to apply as he knew that the company has a strong foundation and that I would have an opportunity to thrive within it. A few things that made the company stand out to me was the communication and streamlined process the day that I applied to the day I had an offer of employment. I was sold on working with PoolCorp when I had gained the reassurance from my potential branch manager that the company is very pro military in regards to our training schedules and are flexible as needed given enough lead time.
I started my career with PoolCorp as a warehouse associate at the Ontario NPT and I had been assigned to shipping and receiving. As I grew more competent, I was then cross trained in the showroom and at the counter. I have also been tasked with helping schedule and route our delivery trucks as needed working side by side with our dispatch CSA. This has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my job as I can see the projects start to finish when it involves our company. I aide in placing sales orders and contacting vendors for quotes and then get to see the product come in and get sent to the customer. This company has been very supportive of my military career as I was on leave December 2022- November 2023 for a deployment overseas. I returned to work and my operations manager made sure I got up to speed on anything that had changed and was supportive of me as I reacclimated myself to the workload.”
Mason C.
Sales Center Manager
“I served in the Army for 4 years with Specialist being my highest rank. I found Poolcorp through a recruiter who reached out to me. Interviewing with Tommy and Van definitely gave me a good first impression. I started as the Sales Center Manager in Omaha and am still in that position. The best part about working at Poolcorp is the comradery and the overall friendliness of the employees, from the branches all the way to the Board.”
